Rebecca Wilson

I believe in the God of the Bible and that Jesus is His Son who died on the cross at Calvary for the sins of the world. This free gift is for you and me, if we accept that fact by faith and strive daily to follow His Living Word that is the same today, yesterday, and forever.

I love my boyfriend whom I have been married to for going on 20 years. We have two boys that, at the time of this first publishing, are both in high school, which is taught at home by yours truly. Cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, goats, horses, turkeys, quails, squirrels, chipmunks, peacocks, songbirds, coyotes, raccoons, opossums, all have called our yard home and I have a story about each of them.

I am originally from Kentucky, with deep roots in Eastern Kentucky’s Appalachian Mountains. I grew up in a working-class suburb of Lexington, Kentucky. I am married to a quiet feller from Birmingham, Alabama. We met in Tampa, FL, married, had two kids, and moved to California. From there we landed in Alabama for a few years and then by the providence of God we moved to our little piece of heaven on Earth here in Georgia where we live in a white house, on a little hill, in the rocky foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Chris and I have been married for 20 years. We enjoy working side by side on our farm and he tolerates all my farm animals with such patience. He is also the one who is first to proof anything I write. I.Love.Him!

I am proficient in chickens, goats, ducks, turkey, quail, and a little bit horse. I love gardening but mostly the design in the beginning and photography of the end product. I am excellent in keeping Chris company for the middle parts but he is the one who actually plants and weeds for the most part. We have five acres that is mostly on a hill so we have plateaued off, much like the Incas.

Homeschool Mom

I have homeschooled our two boys since 2011. Our oldest son is about to go off to University and looking to join the military as a chaplain. Our youngest son has his eye on a career in aviation and currently holds his student pilots license. It has been a great joy and privilege to be both their mother and teacher.

I put this last, writer, although it is my passion, this is my first published book. It was important for me to address grief for kids, for pets or people, as I have watched many kids, my own included try to make sense of loss. It is hard as an adult so it is often difficult to articulate to a child what it means and how to move forward. Although everyone who knows me would probably say I am a joyful person, I have learned to live closely with grief. Most of the things I have written are more light hearted and even comical but I had to get this off my heart before I could even look at publishing any of my other works.
